Gear & Tech — Members Only

This page is a long game.

Gear and technology play a real role in how we move through wild places—but this space isn’t about constant reviews, affiliate churn, or chasing whatever just dropped last week. It’s about tools that earn their place over time.

Everything shared here will be:

  • Field-tested, not spec-sheet tested

  • Contextual, not hype-driven

  • Honest about tradeoffs, not just highlights

If something shows up on this page, it’s because it’s been carried, cooked with, paddled, worn, charged, broken, repaired, or trusted when it mattered.

What to Expect Going Forward

This section will grow slowly and intentionally. Over time, members can expect:

  • Real-world gear notes
What’s working, what failed, what surprised me, and what I’d change next time.

  • Tech in context
Navigation tools, power systems, cameras, communication devices, and software—explained in terms of use, not just features.

  • Long-term updates
How gear performs after months or years, not just the first outing.

  • Selective recommendations
Some items may include links or discounts down the road, but only when they genuinely make sense—and never at the expense of trust.

Not every trip requires new gear.
Not every problem needs a product.

Why This Is Members-Only

Keeping this page private also makes it possible to pursue member-only discounts and collaborations with select makers—opportunities that aren’t feasible on public, indexed pages. When those make sense, they’ll be shared here first.

Gear-Tech is also an ongoing conversation in the members forum, where everyone is encouraged to share what works for them. Over time, this page will evolve as a reflection of the collective experience, not just one perspective.
